The perfect New York bagel must have a compact crumb and be surrounded by a shiny, tender skin. A touch of sweetness with a slightly malty aftertaste.


Restaurant
We opened our restaurant and bakery in the Hunziker Areal in Zurich-Oerlikon in 2016. We bake more than 10 types of bagels fresh every day, 7 days a week. Our bagel sandwiches are generously topped with over 90% organic, locally sourced ingredients. Our sandwiches are made to order and are freshly prepared in front of the guest. Everything is homemade and we even smoke our own organic meat and salmon. The neighborhood values us as a meeting place and cozy café with a large terrace and lovely children's corner.

Acting responsibly
We have always had a strong personal connection with nature. A company requires a lot of resources, which we have to use as sparingly as possible. It is important to us to keep our company's footprint as small as possible while at the same time meeting the wishes of our guests.

Healthy
We only use crisp, fresh ingredients that are produced by local farmers in harmony with nature. For us, it goes without saying that we only use the freshest ingredients. We don't use ready-made products, are sparing with salt and sugar and only use high-quality oils and fats. Healthy fast food.

ORGANIC
Our bagel sandwiches are topped with over 90% organic products from the region. We only use organic Swiss beef, organic pork and organic salmon. Our dairy products, cream cheese and almost all vegetables and fruit are also from organic farms - for the health of our guests, for the taste and out of love for nature.

SELF-MADE
We enjoy being able to make everything ourselves. Not just our bagels, but also all our pastries, salads, dips, and sauces. We make everything ourselves. We love smoking our organic salmon, organic carrot lox, organic pastrami, and organic pulled pork in our fantastic smoker.

ENERGY EFFICIENT
We also do our small part when it comes to energy consumption. Our hot water is generated using the waste heat from our cooling systems. We use modern and economical electrical appliances and both of our cars are 100% electric and run on renewable energy.

PLASTIC-FREE
Disposable packaging for our catering and for take-away in the restaurant is unfortunately unavoidable. However, all of this packaging is plastic-free. Our aperitif platters, for example, are made from 100% compostable palm leaves.
Milestones
Martin worked as a pastry chef in the USA, where he learned recipes for various sweets. While studying, he discovered a cool bagel shop in Paris and has been fascinated by bagels ever since. Rado worked in a restaurant in Zurich, where he met Martin. They decided to start a bagel business together and have been writing Swiss bagel history ever since.
